McDermott tallied five points in a 2-0 week as the Pioneers captured the championship of the Drew Fall Festival. She wrapped up the festival by tacking on an assist in the championship match as the Pioneers defeated Arcadia, 2-1 for their third straight win. McDermott is currently tied for ninth in the NJAC in total goals with two.

With a 1-0 overtime victory over Arcadia this week, O'Connor helped the Raptors to a school-record tying fourth consecutive shutout. Rutgers-Newark has opened its season with shutout victories over Cabrini, SUNY New Paltz, Marywood and Arcadia, while outscoring their opponents by a combined mark of 17-0. In addition to her defensive work, O'Connor has also scored a goal this season from her defender position.
