McDermott tallied five points
in a 2-0 week as the Pioneers captured the championship of the Drew Fall
Festival. She notched her first two goals of the season in Paterson's 4-0
first round victory over Manhattanville. She wrapped up the festival by
tacking on an assist in the championship match as the Pioneers defeated
Arcadia, 2-1 for their third straight win. McDermott is currently tied for
ninth in the NJAC in total goals with two. |

With a 1-0
overtime victory over Arcadia this week, O'Connor helped the Raptors to a
school-record tying fourth consecutive shutout. Rutgers-Newark has opened
its season with shutout victories over Cabrini, SUNY New Paltz, Marywood
and Arcadia, while outscoring their opponents by a combined mark of 17-0.
In addition to her defensive work, O'Connor has also scored a goal this
season from her defender position. |

Phillips
picked an opportune time to register her first career goal as she netted
the game-winner in the first overtime period of the Scarlet Raiders' 2-1
victory over Cazenovia. The win over Cazenovia, combined with an earlier
win in the week over Medaille, helped extend Rutgers-Newark's unbeaten
streak to four matches and propelled the Raiders to a 3-0-1 record overall
on the season. |
