OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Christyn Scillieri, Montclair State University Freshman, Forward Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley
A Week 5 NJAC Rookie of the Week selection, Scillieri earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after tallying seven points, including the game-winning score in each match, during a pair of NJAC victories for Montclair. She first tallied the game-winning goal with five minutes left in the first half during the Red Hawks’ 3-0 NJAC road win at Kean. Three days later, she tallied two goals and added an assist for five points in MSU’s 3-2 NJAC victory over NJCU. Scillieri currently ranks tied for fifth in the NJAC in game-winning goals with three on the season.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kristen Cargen, Rutgers University-Camden Senior, Goalkeeper Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East
Cargen earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors allowing just one goal in 290 minutes of action during a 2-0-1 week for the Scarlet Raptors. She first collected four saves in a 3-0 non-conference road shutout at Albright. Two days later, she recorded a Camden single-game record 17 saves while allowing just one goal off of a penalty kick in the Raptors’ 1-1 NJAC draw with Richard Stockton. She wrapped up the week by notching six saves in a 3-0 NJAC shutout of William Paterson. Cargen currently ranks second in the NJAC in total saves with 92 on the season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jennifer Albuja, New Jersey City University Freshman, Forward Union City, NJ/Hoboken
Albuja earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season after tallying six points in a pair of NJAC contests for the Gothic Knights. She opened the week by registering a goal in NJCU’s 3-1 NJAC loss to Rutgers-Newark. She wrapped up the week by tallying two goals for four points in the Knights’ 3-2 conference defeat at Montclair State. Already the NJCU single-season record holder for both goals and points, Albuja currently leads the NJAC in goals (21), points (44), goals per game (1.50), and points per game (3.14).
