Formisano earns the first NJAC Player of the Week honor
after posting 2-0 records in both singles and doubles play in a pair of
Osprey non-conference victories. In Stockton’s 8-1 road win at Georgian
Court, she posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles and earned a forfeit win
in third doubles. In a 7-2 road victory at Manhattanville, she posted a
6-1, 6-0 win at fifth singles and teamed with Ana Estevez for an 8-0
pro-set victory at third doubles. Formisano, who lost only one game in
three matches combined, has helped the Ospreys post four consecutive
victories to start the season. |

Fitzsimmons earns the first NJAC Rookie of the Week
selection after posting a 2-0 record in singles play in a pair of Scarlet
Raider victories. In Newark’s 8-1 season-opening win over SUNY Purchase,
she posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at second singles in the first match of her
collegiate career. Just two days later, she opened conference play by
posting a 7-6, 6-4 win at second singles in the Raiders’ 7-2 NJAC road
victory at Kean. Fitzsimmons has helped Rutgers-Newark get off to a 2-0
start to their season. |
