Shtemberg earns NJAC Player of
the Week honors for the third time this season after winning the
Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women’s Singles
National Championship at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, AL. She
entered as the second-seed in singles play, and advanced to the
championship match where she posted a 6-3, 6-4 win over top-seeded Siobhan
Finicane of Ponoma-Pitzer College to become the first female
student-athlete at TCNJ to win a national ITA singles crown. She also
teamed with Christina Contrafatto to earn ITA All-American honors in
doubles by placing seventh. Shtemberg is now 42-5 on her career in singles
play while teaming with Contrafatto to produce a 37-10 career doubles
mark. |

|
Rodriguez earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after
competing at the NJAIAW Championships hosted by Drew University in
Madison. After falling in her first round match of the Flight D main draw,
she rebounded to win the championship of the Flight D Consolation bracket.
Rodriguez posted three straight victories including a 6-4, 2-6, (10-8)
victory in the final to claim the consolation bracket crown. |
